Past Perfect Continuous
Process + Result in the past. Used to show how long an action was happening before another moment in the past.
How it looks on a timeline:
An action was continuing up to a specific point in the past, and we can see its result.

All Subjects + had been + V-ing
👉 I had been waiting for 2 hours.
👉 They had been working all day.
Subject + had not been + V-ing
👉 She hadn't been sleeping well.
👉 We hadn't been talking before that.
Had + Subject + been + V-ing?

2. Spelling Rules (-ing)

⚠️ State Verbs Trap
Verbs of feeling and thought (want, need, know, love) are NOT used with -ing. Use Past Perfect instead!
